When I intended this to be a blog for journaling, I never figured in the time it would take to remember it was here & what I wanted to use it for. Well, having the 4 active children I do have, sometimes life just takes over for a while. So, I'll give a recap about what we've been up to the last couple of weeks.
First off, Brian has been very busy being gone with work in getting some new accounts right before Christmas in which they were running a HUGE day after Thanksgiving sale & needed to get them up to speed in a hurry. So, that's what he's been doing. Also, tis the season for deer hunting. Yes, it sometimes gets on my nerves with him being gone but for the most part I really don't mind him enjoying himself & getting some time to just go & enjoy nature.
Alexa has been busy preparing for state drill team which was held this past weekend. This of course has been her first year to participate & all the girls did wonderfully! They didn't end up placing with a trophy but they did receive a Division I rating in both of their routines, which is a huge improvement from last year. She is doing wonderfully in school & loves being with her friends. Face it, what high school girl doesn't??
Emma just finished up her first session of gymnastics for this school year & has been taking violin lessons on Tuesday afternoons. She truly has a gift of music & we hope to encourage her any chance we can. She had her first orchestra concert as a member of middle orchestra at school. I can't believe how much all the kids have improved in just a year!
Wyatt has been loving school & is going 3 days a week for now. He will start going 5 days at the start of 2nd semester in January. He is SO ready for that! I hate to say it but he is so bored at home right now & would rather be learning at school. He is all into sports & is literally counting the months/years til he can participate. His first chance will be this spring in soccer. I know my little athlete will do very well!
Of course there is Jackson! We have officially given him a new nickname-UNDO! He is absolutely in love with undoing everything that we are trying to do & thinks it's funny! I know he is only 2 & that is what 2 yr olds do but I truly don't remember my other kids being this in to everything. It could also have something to do with a new house & the cabinets being a little easier to open. We have yet to find an effective child proof lock system for the drawers & cabinets. We've tried a few things but they have proven to be useless. I guess there is a drawback to having an open floor plan!
I, myself, have been busy with being gone for a couple weekends at either Women of Faith, shopping with the Gulker women, or state drill team & working others. I can officially say that I am sick of shopping!! I haven't ever been one to enjoy shopping so the 3 shopping trips that I've been on recently have pushed me over the edge. I've gotten a few things to decorate the house & am finding I still need more. I guess this is a process & it's good to piece things together as I go. We had my work Christmas party this past Thursday in which the Driesens took us shopping for the day & then out to eat at Bracco's. It was a lot of fun & really good food! I am truly blessed to have such awesome people to work with & for!
We also ran into a glitch with selling our lot. This is the 3rd time that we thought we had it sold & actually had a contract signed & earnest money in our hands & the people backed out on Friday. I don't blame them & are actually glad that they backed out now instead of going ahead with something that might make them uncomfortable financially. It just bites because now we are back at square one! I know it will happen in due time but I just want it to be sold so that we can just move on for good!
Well, I guess that wraps up the majority of what has been going on here. Of course this doesn't go into depth of all the minor stuff going on that causes life to be pretty interesting here but just gives a rough overview of the Gulker house!
